PHIL EASTWOOD COACHING
My Story
About
I'm Phil Eastwood
Growing up on the south coast of England, working in London as a police officer and then emigrating to Canada - I have held an unwavering commitment to continuous learning, growth, and self-improvement.

I have used this philosophy in the training company I created over 25 years ago - and now in my one-on-one coaching practice.

Career & Business
Looking back, my entire career has been dedicated to helping people and organizations in which they work, to thrive by developing their ability to get on better with the humans around them.
I worked as a police officer for more than 35 years, first in London’s West End at Notting Hill, and then for the New Westminster Police Department in British Columbia, Canada.

Whilst in law enforcement, I held various front line, supervisory and managerial roles before starting my own company, firstly, as an aside to my policing career and then in a full-time capacity since 2015.

I’ve partnered with hundreds of corporate clients in industries: police, fire, EMS, transportation, oil & gas, education, healthcare, hi-tech, finance as well as both local and federal government.

I’ve designed and led workshops for thousands of professionals, from students to executives.

Curiosity
Being a naturally curious person has shaped my approach to life and work.

I discovered that by actively embracing differences and courageously crossing the chasm of the unknown, we open ourselves to new possibilities and a better understanding that enriches our journey and broadens our perspective on the world and the people around us.

The transformative power of stepping outside of our comfort zone is a continuous source of fuel for our growth and evolution.

Mindset shift
I firmly believe in the transformative impact of mindset shifts and the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where individuals can explore, grow, and thrive.

Within my coaching conversations, I don’t teach; I listen - which facilitates dynamic, interactive sessions designed to leave a profound and lasting impact on participants. This in turn, allows them to navigate their own future journeys with confidence and resilience.
Credentials and Certifications
A life-long learner, I enjoy immersing myself in the world of research on human dynamics - especially within workplace communities.

I am on a journey of continuous personal growth, knowing the power that it has on our ability to better understand the complexities of how us humans interact.

This has led me to a place where I am able to provide new perspectives of understanding and offer invaluable insights to those I help through my work.

Academic
I hold a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Training which aided in shifting my focus to become a trainer and coach dedicated to helping others grow and evolve.

Professional Communication
Since 2008, I have been a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS), receiving my designation as a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) in 2018...one of 60 such certified professionals in Canada.

In 2025, I received my designation as a licensed facilitator for the Myers Briggs Company, certified to provide clients with valuable and often transformative personal insight through a wide variety of assessment tools.

And...Author
For the past few years, I have been developing myself as a writer.

First, there was my autobiographical work Handcuffs to Handshakes: Leadership Lessons From More Than 30 Years of Handling Humans.

More recently, I have been working on developing a series of murder/mystery and thriller novels featuring the lead character, Jack Griffin. His stories can be found here.
